Our goals are clear, we have to create a way to meet new people without spending too much time, effectively expand the network circle, and ensure to reduce the fear of rejection in person.

Before designing, we carefully plan how users will navigate the app. Our planning process starts with a thorough discussion of the user flow on a whiteboard. This helps us ensure that all team members have a clear understanding of our concept. We put ourselves in Alice's shoes and think about how the app's functions and features can effectively solve her problems and frustrations.

The innovative concept of our app prioritizes helping Alice with her social and time management issues and how users can easily set up their profiles, create and share calendars, and connect with friends to make the most out of every moment.

Low-fidelity Wireframe

Based on our three main tasks, we have designed a low-fidelity app to ensure content completeness and logical flow.

Lean Evaluation

We developed the low-fidelity version of our app. We invited international students who have been in Toronto for three months to conduct a usability evaluation. During this 15 to 20-minute evaluation, we observed their reactions and had brief discussions.

Participants found the app fun and suitable for meeting new people, expressing satisfaction and anticipation for future use. However, this also highlighted areas in the low-fi version that need to improve, including enhancing the Privacy Agreement, providing various calendar view options, and implementing a "Follow" for other people.

  2. Various calendar view options
  3. “Follow” for other people

Mid-fidelity Wireframe

We designed the mid-fidelity version of the application based on the low-fidelity sketch. By adding visual design elements, such as graphics and icons, our mid-fidelity version showcased more detailed information on the functionality of our application.

Once the mid-fidelity wireframe was finished and designed, we made three tasks clickable and were able to navigate to other tasks.
