Project Overview
The coffee supply chain has problems with exploitation and environmental harm, but these can be improved with sustainable and ethical practices, fair trade certifications, and greater transparency.
My Role as a Researcher
- Researched the problems associated with the coffee supply chain, including sustainability, labor practices, and economic issues.
- Conducted a study on consumer behavior when purchasing coffee, examining factors such as price, brand, and origin, and analyzing the impact of these factors on purchasing decisions.
- Examined existing solutions to address problems in the back side of the coffee supply chain, including initiatives focused on improving farming practices, enhancing transparency and traceability, and promoting fair trade.
Iām also a UI Designer
- Designed and developed a website to showcase the research conducted, with a focus on providing an interactive and engaging experience for users.
- Created an interactive infographic to present the research findings in a visually appealing and user-friendly manner, allowing visitors to easily sort and filter the data based on their interests.
- Utilized various design techniques to enhance the user experience, including the use of compelling visuals, intuitive navigation, and clear call-to-actions to encourage engagement and learning.
Problem
People who enjoy coffee don't know how many forests have been destroyed to provide instant coffee enjoyment to consumers worldwide and the countless exploited laborers in the complex coffee supply chain.
Solution
A website form of data visualization that showcases the reasons and causes of multiple negative impacts with categorized information as the different perspectives also provides suggestions on what consumers can do to prevent multiple problems in different aspects.
