When the annual one-week Startup competition is about to kick off, the topic of 2023 has been revealed to be “Embrace The Unorthodox”. During the first team meeting, we spent an entire afternoon deliberating and analyzing the definition of the topic. Interestingly, each member presented a unique understanding and perspective, resulting in diverse viewpoints and insights.
Unorthodox (adjective) different from what is usual or expected in behavior, ideas, methods, etc.
Diversity, Not traditional, Conceptual, Unusual, Extraordinary
→ Accepting unconventional ideas to challenge traditional ways of thinking.
The main idea of the topic is “not traditional”, but then we started thinking about “What is traditional?”
People pass down traditions from one generation to the next, which help them interact with each other and feel like they belong. These traditions shape the way people behave in their community and give them an idea of what's right and wrong.

However, as society evolves, it is important to remain open-minded and receptive to new ideas. We can create a more inclusive and dynamic community that embraces diversity and innovation.
